A private body, convened by its Chairman.
The Doha Circle is a private body convened by its Chairman for Qatari family offices and investment houses, to deploy capital into economies entering their strongest period of growth in a generation.
The best opportunities in those economies are settled long before they are advertised, in rooms that are difficult to reach and in a language of relationships that takes years to learn. The Circle exists so that its members arrive in those rooms early and in good company, carried by people who have worked in these countries for two decades. Membership is extended by the Chairman, and by no other means. The Circle remains small by design, and its work is conducted privately.
Qatar National Vision 2030
It describes an economy whose prosperity is secured beyond hydrocarbons and beyond its own borders. The Doha Circle was formed in support of that ambition.
Qatari capital is welcome in the markets the Circle works in, and it is welcome at the highest level. Governments across Central Asia are actively seeking Gulf partners for energy, mining, infrastructure and agriculture, and they are prepared to receive that capital as a matter of state interest rather than ordinary commerce. The Circle carries Qatar's private houses into those conversations. It returns to Doha the relationships, the standing and the intelligence that come from being present early.
How the Circle is constituted.
- The entityThe Doha Circle is established at the Qatar Financial Centre in Doha, under the QFC legal and regulatory framework.
- The ChairmanMembership and institutional direction. Every invitation to the Circle is extended personally by the Chairman.
- The Chief ExecutiveOrigination and qualification of opportunities, their presentation to members, execution in market, and stewardship beyond signature.
- Member discretionEvery capital decision remains with the family or institution that makes it. The Circle holds no discretion over member capital.
- Regulated workRegulated activities remain with appropriately authorised institutions. The Circle coordinates them; it does not replace them.
- IndependenceWhere an institution is engaged as a partner of the Circle in a corridor, that relationship is disclosed to any member whose interests it touches.
The Circle manages no pooled fund, and its membership is by invitation alone. There is no blind pool: each opportunity is presented on its own merits, and each commitment remains the decision of the family or institution that makes it.
